Last month we tried Esse Organic Skincare’s Deep Moisturiser and it’s become a stable in the our night time regime. We were really looking forward to trying their Gel Cleanser and we’re just as impressed.
First up a little bit about Esse. They’ve only recently launched in Australia from South Africa, however they’ve been around for a while, since about 2002. Trevor Steyn, the founder, has been dedicated to crafting the best organic skincare products using his background as a scientist to formulate the highest quality skincare that is sustainable as well as better for you. All products are certified Organic, vegan and cruelty free (they’re really ticking the boxes) and even more, support fair trade and are carbon-neutral.
The big difference with Esse is that they include prebiotics and probiotics into their formulations; in fact they launched the world’s first probiotic serum. They know the skin environment needs to be nourished with the right ingredients to help it do its job. Their gel cleanser which can be found in August Good Green Box features prebiotics and probiotic extracts to selectively feed good microbes on your skin. It helps balance the on skin environment, improving barrier function to keep any nasty bacteria, pollution etc out. It means less inflammation and a slower ageing process. It may tingle just a smidge on application, but the incredibly thought out ingredients such as African Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory properties make sure it does the job. There is no drying out with this cleanser and the plant-based foaming agents create a luxury lather that refreshes and stimulates leaving clean and clear skin.
